Hola! Hola mis amigos!
I’M BACK! – After a few weekend trips and "un novio" later, I bring you a “Something
for the People” segment - Just to fill
you in on my life, thus far.
Lets see … where to start? I guess for starters
Being the food junky
that I am – I have been indulging
in some good ol’ food,
lately. I can thank my Dominican novio for that. Home cooked meals are the
best!
I’ve also had a restaurant introduced to me that specializes
in American Brunch. The French toast, pancakes, bacon, eggs and specialty made
hash browns – are DEVINE!
Oh, and good company!
All in all – I am enjoying my last two weeks here in
Barcelona. Not that I wasn’t enjoying
my time before, but I’ve been
enjoying it MORE! The fact that I now have “un novio” has made a difference BUT I have seen more of
Barcelona in the past month than I’ve seen in
the last eight. Everything was quite unexpected. I was totally convinced that
Barcelona was a “no go.” Pero – the tables
have turned.
I can admit that I
really didn’t give Barcelona a
chance. Hopping on a plane every weekend to another country was my mission.
Which I don’t regret - AT ALL! I
mean, I’ve seen some amazing
things and been to so many fabulous places. The only regret I have is that I
came into this adventure thinking as “someone who
will be here for ONLY eight months and it wouldn’t make a difference if I try or not.” The past month I decided to change my mind
frame. I put myself in the shoes of “someone who
has uprooted their life, relocated and needs to survive.” So I started to practice more on my Spanish -
{FYI: mi novio doesn’t speak a
word of English – giggles}. I
started to mingle more with the locals and friends. It always helps to be
around people at times. I even started to explore more on my own. – I’ve come to a
conclusion that Barcelona is a great city. I guess it took a little motivation
from a Sexy Dominican man to show me.
My study abroad journey
here in Barcelona is coming to an end. I literally have nine more days to
enjoy. Wow! How times flies. I don’t believe
this is an “Adios!” but an “Hasta Luego!”
… I have an upcoming blog post on my amazing weekend
in Amsterdam. I also have few US of A trips planned and SUPER excited about
that. Just because my study abroad journey is ending doesn’t mean my travels will follow. I’m JUST getting started. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, in
between time …
Keep dreaming, stay inspired, and be blessed!
